Family Finder: Friends GPS
These Terms of Use apply to the Family Finder: Friends GPS mobile application (the "Application"), which is provided by an independent developer (the "Service Provider"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Application.
The Application is designed for invite-based location sharing. You may only use it in a lawful, respectful, and consent-based manner.
Use of the Application
Subject to your compliance with these Terms of Use, the Service Provider grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Application for your personal, non-commercial use.
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or exploit the Application except as allowed by law;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Application;
- use the Application for stalking, harassment, intimidation, surveillance abuse, or any unlawful purpose;
- send invites to people without permission to contact them;
- share another person's location without their knowledge or valid consent; or
- interfere with the security, integrity, or availability of the Application or its backend services.
Eligibility and Consent
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Application complies with applicable laws, consent requirements, and age restrictions in your jurisdiction.
By using the Application, you represent that:
- you have authority to use the device and Apple account associated with the Application;
- you will only send invites or share contact details when you have permission to do so;
- you will only create location-sharing relationships with people who have accepted the invite flow; and
- you will not use the Application in any way that could endanger, mislead, or harm another person.
Location Sharing and Accuracy
The Application depends on device sensors, operating system permissions, background behavior, battery state, internet connectivity, and third-party services. Because of this, location information may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate.
The Application is not an emergency, law enforcement, dispatch, or guaranteed safety service. Do not rely on the Application as your sole means of finding a person, verifying a person's safety, or making urgent decisions.
Invites, Contacts, and Shared Content
The Application may allow you to create invite links, select contact details, and attach an optional image. You are solely responsible for the information you provide and the people you invite.
You agree that you will not:
- upload unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or infringing content;
- impersonate another person;
- submit another person's data without an appropriate basis or permission; or
- reuse invite links in ways that bypass the intended flow of the Application.
Subscriptions and Billing
The Application may offer paid features, including auto-renewable subscriptions and free trials. Billing is handled by Apple through your App Store account, and premium access may be managed with the help of Apphud.
By purchasing a subscription, you understand and agree that:
- payment will be charged to your Apple ID account when the purchase is confirmed;
- subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period;
- your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period;
- you can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings after purchase;
- any unused portion of a free trial may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable; and
- pricing, availability, and trial offerings may vary by country, storefront, or time.
Refunds, billing disputes, and payment processing are generally handled by Apple under its own terms and policies.
Internet, Device, and Carrier Responsibility
Some features of the Application require an active internet connection and compatible device capabilities. The Service Provider is not responsible if the Application is unavailable or performs poorly because of connectivity issues, unsupported devices, battery depletion, system restrictions, or carrier limitations.
If you use the Application on a mobile network, your carrier's rates and fees may apply, including data charges, SMS charges, or roaming charges. If you are not the bill payer for the device, you represent that you have permission from the bill payer to use the Application.
Third-Party Services
The Application relies on third-party services and system frameworks, including Firebase, Apple services, and Apphud. The Service Provider is not responsible for the independent policies, outages, or behavior of third-party services.
Intellectual Property
All trademarks, copyrights, database rights, designs, and other intellectual property rights in and to the Application remain the property of the Service Provider or its licensors. These Terms of Use do not transfer any ownership rights to you.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Application is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profit, goodwill, business interruption, or personal harm arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Application.
This includes, without limitation, issues arising from inaccurate location data, missed notifications, expired invites, deleted friendships, unavailable services, unsupported devices, or third-party service failures.
Suspension and Termination
The Service Provider may suspend, limit, or terminate access to the Application at any time, with or without notice, if necessary to protect the Application, other users, comply with law, or respond to abuse or technical issues.
The Service Provider may also modify, discontinue, or replace features of the Application at any time.
Changes to These Terms
The Service Provider may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Updated terms become effective when posted on this page unless a different effective date is stated. Your continued use of the Application after the updated terms are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
